BrightStone mourns today with all our friends and community over the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Dr. Craig Ferrell. Dr. Ferrell was in a horse riding accident while playing polo last week. Dr. Ferrell's ties to BrightStone are so deep that it is safe to say that BrightStone would not be where it is today were it not for his vision, commitment, foresight, and dedication. As a BrightStone Board Director and former Board Chair, Craig also chaired and brought to success BrightStone's Songwriters Night and led the way for BrightStone's move into our current building. "Leading the way" is something we all grew to expect from Dr. Ferrell because he was good at it! When he championed a cause, you could be sure it would be a success! BrightStone will miss our "Dr. Bob" - Jon's affectionate name for his dad - who never came to a meeting without walking around to say hello to all our adult students. He was our champion who shared the vision of helping adults with special needs to all his friends and everyone he met! Now, we lift up his family and many thousands of friends who will miss his quick smile and welcome hugs. I personally will miss one of my best friends who would always challenge me to be better than I ever thought possible. Philippians 1:3a: "I thank my God every time I remember you."
