We surpassed our $150,000 goal! Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers and especially to all our fundraising golfers and their donors for supporting BrightStone and helping adults with special needs in our community!
In 2012 and at the age of 63, BrightStone lost a dear friend, Jim Hinton. Jim was VP of Risk Mgmt at HCA, our Board Chair, devoted father and husband, an avid golfer, dear friend, and a long-time caring and compassionate supporter of BrightStone.
To honor his memory, wife Linda and son's Mike and Brian (pictured here with Jim), we renamed BrightStone's Golf Benefit to:
As BrightStone's most established fundraising event, the Jim Hinton Memorial Golf Benefit attracts approximately 50 golfers each year--small enough to be enjoyable yet large enough to be very successful, raising as much as $150,000 to fund BrightStone's programs and services!
The success depends on the fundraising efforts of golfers and their fundraising support partners. Golfers do not “pay to play.” Rather, they diligently seek donors and sponsors in their efforts to raise at least $3,000 per golfer - thankfully, most reach or surpass this goal!
As golfers and support partners reach out to their network of friends, family, co-workers and business contacts to raise money, they acquaint people with the important mission of BrightStone, volunteer opportunities, and give people they know an opportunity to support BrightStone. The event is quite competitive and these dedicated golfers and support partners are some of BrightStone's most loyal friends!
The event is held at The Governor's Club and everyone gets to experience the beauty of Fall, the fun of golf, and the blessings of helping adults with disabilities in our community.
