BrightStone recently held its annual Volunteer luncheon to honor over 130 individuals who have volunteered their time and service to BrightStone within the past year.
The luncheon, which was held at BrightStone, included a delicious lunch catered by Chuy’s and a performance by the BrightStone Choir. Attendees were recognized for their volunteer efforts in the areas of direct services, special events, Board of Directors and committee leadership, and student product finishing.
Each year, BrightStone recognizes select individuals that go above and beyond volunteering their time, service and show tremendous dedication to BrightStone. This year’s honorees were Lisa Hasty and Laura Hill.
Lisa has volunteered as a teacher’s assistant one day each week for the past 9 years. Her skills in ceramics and her obvious commitment and concern for BrightStone adults have made her a valued assistant in the job training center. Lisa and her family live in Franklin.
Laura has given her time and talent to BrightStone for the past 11 years. She has produced and been the Master of Ceremonies for BrightStone’s annual Songwriter’s Night Benefit, “Music That Touches the Heart,” each year since its beginning. She also served on BrightStone’s Board of Directors. Laura and her family live in Leiper’s Fork.
“Our volunteers are the heart and soul of BrightStone and we are so grateful for them,” shared Executive Director and Founder, Brenda Hauk. “We are blessed to have such dedicated and talented volunteers who help us everyday enrich the lives of these precious adults who live with special needs.”
