BrightStone Board Welcomes New Members

Four new board members were recently approved to join the Board of Directors for BrightStone, a nonprofit organization educating and training adults with special needs, located in Franklin, TN. Terrance (Terry) Bridges—President, Behavioral Health Services for Healthcare Corporation of America.  Terry is responsible for HCA’s 54 behavioral health facilities located throughout 17 states.  Formerly COO with Psychiatric Solutions, Inc., Terry serves on the Board of Trustees for the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems and the Governing Council for Psychiatric and Substance Abuse for the American Hospital Association.  Terry received his Master’s degree in Clinical-Community Psychology from California State University Northridge.  He and his wife Susan reside in Franklin, have two grown sons, and are members of Franklin United Methodist Church. Monica Coakley—Principal, KPMG, Washington National Tax Practice.  Monica is located in the Nashville office of KPMG and advises KPMG partners, professionals and clients across the country on tax issues affecting the healthcare industry.   She is a member of the TN, NY & NJ Bars, American Health Lawyers Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Nashville Health Care Council.  She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from The American University, received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her LL.M. Taxation from the NY University School of Law.  Monica serves on the Finance Committee of Mental Health America Middle TN, the Board of Directors for Mental Health America of Middle Tennessee, is a community educator on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, and teaches Sunday School for children with special needs.  She resides in Franklin with her husband, Sean, and their three children. Aaron Ferrell—Senior Programmer with Advanced Engineering in Cool Springs.  Aaron is a graduate of Battle Ground Academy and received his Bachelors of Science from the University of Notre Dame.  Aaron has served as the Treasurer of the board of his HOA, and operates a small real estate management company with his wife.  His brother, Jon, is a  student at BrightStone.  Aaron and his wife Tanya reside in Franklin with their two children. Candy Sullivan—Director of Annual Giving and Parent Relations at Battle Ground Academy.   Candy received her Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, with a concentration in Handicapped and Geriatrics, from Radford University in Virginia.  She has been involved with many local endeavors, including Franklin Tomorrow, Heritage Foundation, Heritage Ball, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and many others.  She and her husband Lawrence have two grown children who are both employed in the Arts and live in NY. Candy has been involved with BrightStone for over 10 years and is actually returning to the BrightStone Board of Directors after a one year hiatus. Recently elected officers include:  Dick Wells, Chairman of the Board (The Hard Lessons Company); Bob Speck, Vice Chair (Blue Coast Burrito); Kevin Gabhart, Secretary (Beecher Carlson); Donald Stinnett, Treasurer (Hospital Corporation of America); and Brenda Hauk, President (BrightStone).  Returning Directors include Keith Braly (community volunteer); TN House Representative Glen Casada;  Scott Gentry (Williamson Medical Center); Dr. Cathy Stallworth (Baptist Hospital and Nashville Medical Group); Tom Singleton (retired,  Cambrio).
