BrightStone Closed June 30 – July 4

STARS of the Week – Philip and Kelly!

Philip is a top notch gentleman! He is a tall and handsome guy with the greatest smile. He is always gracious and polite to everyone! He says that his favorite activities at BtightStone include working in the paint room, computer activities, going for a snack at Chick-Fil-A, and saying prayer before lunch. Congratulations Philip!


Kelly's favorite thing is her fancy large earrings that she wears everyday. They are always a big topic of conversation at BrightStone! Her favorite BrightStone activity is music with Ms. Judy.  Ms. Judy comes twice a week and Kelly is counting the days until she comes again. Her other BrightStone favorites include working in ceramics, yoga class, bowling, and helping cook lunch. Way to go, Kelly!

Positions Currently Available at BrightStone

Teacher Assistant Part Time Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements: BrightStone, a job-training school for adults who are developmentally disabled. We are looking for an organized, energetic individual to work as an assistant in our classrooms and on field trips in the community. Experience with individuals with special needs is preferred but not required. This position is Part Time with an hourly rate of $10.00 -$12.00. BrightStone is open 8:00 - 3:30 M-F. Work availability: Tues and Wednesday 7:45 - 3:45 Other duties: Ability to Substitute as needed, able to lift 50 lbs and assist our adults with personal needs and hygeine. Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements:

BrightStone has an immediate opening for a nurse to assist our adults with disabilities. BrightStone is located in Franklin and is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. till 4:30 p.m.. The nurse assists with daily communication with parents and staff, administration of medication, rest rooming, student education, staff training, emergency response and student in take and ongoing assessments and documentation. Sales and Marketing Associate Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements:

Brightstone located in Franklin is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our team to assist us in marketing and selling our student made products. BrightStone adults make products in our classroom work areas. These products are primarily composed of ceramics and dry mix consumables, such as fudge mix, cookie mixes and beverage mixes. We are seeking an individual to assist us in developing standard packaging, brand design and source outlets to distribute our products. This individual will need to be a self starter and motivated to achieve results.  Education and experience in sales and marketing is desired. BrightStone exists to serve and this position will serve to ensure our adults have something meaningful to do each day by selling the products they have made. STARS of the Week–Elissa and Stephanie!

Elissa gets into the spirit of BrightStone.  She is the first one to jump up and congratulate a fellow student or staff person for their birthday or for a special accomplishment.  Elissa says her favorite work area is consumables; she also enjoys riding the exercise bike, bowling, learning games on the computer and saying the prayer before lunch.  Elissa is a Tennessee Vols and  Titans fan.  She is also a great dancer! Stephanie is one of our most dedicated and willing workers at BrightStone.  She is always ready to work and anxious to do her very best.  Stephanie's favorite job at BrightStone is working in the paint room.  She also enjoys practicing her math skills, helping cook lunch and our trips to Chick-Fil-A for a snack.  In her leisure time she enjoys eating at Shoney's, listening to the Beach Boys and playing with her dogs, Max and Daisy.

STARS of the Week–Catherine & Kelly!

Catherine is an energetic, happy and friendly young lady.  In her leisure time she enjoys listening to country music, eating at Logan's and she is a Tennessee Vols fan.  Her favorite BrightStone activities include working in the paint room, typing on the computer, helping cook lunch and taking yoga classes. There's always a song in the air when Kelly is around!  She is either listening to the radio playing in the background while she works or she is singing!  Kelly loves coming to BrightStone and is never ready to go home.  She said her favorite BrightStone activities are working in mixes, sharpening her math skills, helping cook lunch and participating in the Yoga class.
