Williamson Medical Center presents STARS of the Week–Brian and Kim

Brian is a lucky guy!  His favorite place on earth is Disney World and he's going to visit soon!  He hasn't been in a couple of years and he has been studying his tour guide faithfully.  We hope that he and his family have a great trip!  When Brian is at BrightStone, he says his favorite activities are working in the paint room, walking, visits from the therapy dogs and his favorite lunch is taco salad. Miss Kim is very excited about her upcoming birthday.  We look forward to celebrating with her!  Kim says her favorite leisure activities are listening to country music, watching the Disney channel and eating at McDonald's.  Kim's favorite BrightStone activities are playing ball at the YMCA, working in the paint room and helping serve lunch.

Judy Fincannon Music Fund Established

FRANKLIN, TN—Members of Chapter N of P.E.O., a philanthropic educational organization founded in 1869, recently held their monthly meeting at BrightStone, during which they presented a check to BrightStone to establish the Judy Fincannon Music Fund.  Mrs. Fincannon is a member of P.E.O. Chapter N, and has served as the volunteer music director at BrightStone for 14 years.

“What a wonderful way to recognize one of their own, while establishing a fund that will continue to grow and bless BrightStone for many years!” stated Brenda Hauk.  “We can think of no one more deserving than Judy.  She gives hours and hours of herself to BrightStone each year. This fund will help with musically related expenses, such as piano tuning, instruments, music, costumes, and more.  And one day, we hope to add handbells and establish a handbell choir!” P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.  Learn more at .

Williamson Medical Center presents STARS of the Week–Tara and Ali

Tara is a real trooper!  She never wants to miss a day at BrightStone--even when she has physical therapy appointments!  She is very loyal and concerned about her friends.  While at BrightStone, Tara says she really enjoys working in the paint room, computer activities, helping bus the tables after break-time, and yoga class. In his leisure time, Ali enjoys working on the computer.  One of his favorite computer activities is keeping up with his friends and family on Facebook.  We asked Ali his favorite BrightStone activities and he said working in the paint room, playing ball at the YMCA, and going to the library.

Williamson Medical Center presents STARS of the Week–Tammy and Stephen

It seems that Tammy's favorite BrightStone activity is music.  She looks forward to seeing our music director, Judy Fincannon, who has a way of making all of our students feel special.  We have music twice a week and Tammy counts the days.  Her other favorite BrightStone activities include participating in our walking program, BrightStriders, working in the paint room, bowling, and helping serve lunch. Stephen is a fun and funny young man.  He really enjoyed being one of our dancers in the Christmas program this year.  He did a great job!                     While he is at BrightStone he says working in the paint room, computer activities, helping cook lunch, bowling and playing basketball are some of his favorite activities.
