BrightStone Jim Hinton Memorial Golf Benefit

FRANKLIN, TN— Men and women, dedicated to the mission of BrightStone, recently gathered at the beautiful Governor’s Club for BrightStone’s 12th annual Golf Benefit.  Golfers, support partners, staff and volunteers joined the adult students from BrightStone at The Governor’s Club in Brentwood. “This year was very special, in that we renamed our event the BrightStone Jim Hinton Memorial Golf Benefit, to celebrate the life and giving spirit of our late Board Chairman, Jim Hinton,” explained Brenda Hauk, Executive Director of BrightStone.  “Jim dedicated his life to helping those who live with developmental disabilities, and was a visionary leader and avid supporter of BrightStone.  We were pleased to have his family members participate, and to accept a $10,000 contribution from our friends at HCA and The HCA Foundation in recognition of Jim’s involvement.” “Our benefit has a different format than most golf events,” stated Tina Majors, Director of Fund Development for BrightStone.  “We attract golfers and support partners who will commit to raising money for BrightStone, and in turn they get to play golf on such a beautiful course!  Under the leadership of Kevin Gabhart, Golf Benefit Chair, our event surpassed our goal of $100,000, with over $113,000 being raised to date!” BrightStone is a post secondary educational program, providing job training and life skills education for adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
