For BrightStone Families Attending Dr. Ferrell’s Funeral

BrightStone will open as usual on Wednesday and Thursday.  However, if you would like to attend Dr. Ferrell’s funeral on Thursday at 2:00, BrightStone will have staff staying extended hours with your adult so you can attend.  This will be by reservation only, so please call Elizebeth or Dru at 790-4888 to make your reservation by Wednesday. Staff will stay until you return from the funeral, but we must know how many students will be staying past 3:30 in order to plan.

Visitation is planned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harlin Student Center on the campus of Battle Ground Academy, 336 Ernest Rice Lane in Franklin.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, 2015 West End Avenue in Nashville.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to BrightStone, 140 Southeast Pkwy Ct., Franklin, TN 37064.

We know that the family appreciates your prayers and concerns at this difficult time.

BrightStone Shares Sad News

BrightStone mourns today with all our friends and community over the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Dr. Craig Ferrell. Dr. Ferrell was in a horse riding accident while playing polo last week.

Dr. Ferrell’s ties to BrightStone are so deep that it is safe to say that BrightStone would not be where it is today were it not for his vision, commitment, foresight, and dedication.

As a BrightStone Board Director and former Board Chair, Craig also chaired and brought to success BrightStone’s Songwriters Night and led the way for BrightStone’s move into our current building.

“Leading the way” is something we all grew to expect from Dr. Ferrell because he was good at it!    When he championed a cause, you could be sure it would be a success!

BrightStone will miss our “Dr. Bob” – Jon’s affectionate name for his dad – who never came to a meeting without walking around to say hello to all our adult students. He was our champion who shared the vision of helping adults with special needs to all his friends and everyone he met!

Now, we lift up his family and many thousands of friends who will miss his quick smile and welcome hugs.

I personally will miss one of my best friends who would always challenge me to be better than I ever thought possible.

Philippians 1:3a:  “I thank my God every time I remember you.”
